Reactions to Donald Trump’s comments about a potential “takeover” of the Gaza Strip continue to pour in, with the King of Jordan, Abdullah II, now responding.
An official statement says that he has opposed any efforts to displace Palestinians.
“His Majesty emphasized the need to end settlement activities, expressing opposition to any attempt to annex land and displace Palestinians to Gaza and the West Bank, calling for ensuring the stability of Palestinians on their land,” the statement said.
The King further called for greater international efforts to preserve the ceasefire and increase humanitarian response in the region.
