The President of Albania, Bajram Begaj, stated that the Kosovo Liberation Army’s (KLA) war was a just war, supported unconditionally by Albania’s strategic partners and allies.
He emphasized that Albania has a constitutional obligation to protect the interests of Albanians wherever they are.
“Albania has never given up. We have a constitutional duty to defend the interests of Albanians wherever they may be. Of course, this includes the second Albanian state, Kosovo,” President Begaj told ABC News.
“Today, Kosovo is an independent state because it had a just war led by the KLA, as well as the unconditional support of our strategic partners and allies. I believe the answer is clear: the strategic partnership with the United States is both a necessity and a source of pride,” he added.
