The Special Prosecutor’s Office has filed an indictment against Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi, who are suspected of the criminal offense of “Espionage” and were arrested in June of the previous year.

In a statement, the prosecution noted that “for the two defendants, B. Sh. and M. Q., there is well-founded suspicion that each of them, through their actions, committed the criminal offense of ‘Espionage’ under Article 124, paragraph 3 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo, while defendant M. Q. is also charged with the criminal offense of ‘Possession, Control, or Unauthorized Ownership of Firearms’ under Article 366, paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code of Kosovo.”

The State Prosecutor from the Special Prosecutor’s Office has proposed to the court, after the judicial review and presentation of evidence, to declare the defendants guilty and sentence them according to the Criminal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Additionally, the case prosecutor has requested that the court continue the detention measure for the defendants until the completion of the judicial review, as the legal conditions for continuing such a measure still exist.
