The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora of Kosovo and the Ministry of Europe and Foreign Affairs of Austria held political consultations, during which the process of Kosovo’s membership in the Council of Europe and the EU was also discussed.
The delegation of the Ministry of Kosovo was led by deputy minister Kreshnik Gashi, while the Austrian side was led by the general director of the Ministry, Elizabeth Kornfeind.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kosovo, bilateral relations, multilateral cooperation and regional and world events were discussed at the meeting.
“In the framework of bilateral relations, the existing agreements in the field of justice, security, defense and trade were discussed. The recognition of the apostille stamp, the increase in the number of transport permits and the agreement on social security were discussed,” the announcement states.
Regarding multilateral cooperation, the processes of Kosovo’s integration into international organizations were discussed, with special emphasis on the process of membership in the Council of Europe and the European Union.
Ahmeti thanked Austria for its continuous support to Kosovo.
“Recent world events were another topic of conversation, where they talked about their impact on the region, especially in the field of security. Deputy Minister Ahmeti added that Kosovo is committed to contributing to regional and world peace”, the announcement states, with the conclusion that regular political consultations serve to “deepen and improve bilateral relations”.
