At the reception organized by the Government of Kosovo in honor of February 17th, the acting Prime Minister of Kosovo, Albin Kurti, delivered a speech.

He stated that Kosovo desires to live in peace with neighboring countries and to build a European future together with them.

“Today, the Republic of Kosovo is an independent, sovereign, democratic state with territorial integrity. It seeks to live in peace with neighboring countries and to build a European future together with them. Kosovo is a partner of the democratic states of the world that helped in the declaration of its independence,” said Kurti.

He further spoke about human rights in Kosovo, as well as media freedom.

“The rights of women, minorities, and other social categories, the independence of the powers, and the freedom of the media are respected and implemented in Kosovo, even more so and better than in other Western Balkan countries, and in some cases, even beyond that,” said Kurti.
