The Bazhdarhane roundabout was enriched today with the inauguration of the monument “The Runner of Prizren”, a rare artifact discovered in the Prizren region and preserved for decades in the British Museum in London.
This installation marks a special event for the city and its cultural heritage. The Mayor of Prizren, Shaqir Totaj, emphasized the importance of this historical work for the city: “The Runner of Prizren” is a living testimony of our antiquity and of the identity this city carries. This monument not only beautifies the urban space, but also reminds us that Prizren has been and remains an important cultural and historical center in the Balkans.”
Totaj added that the inauguration of this monument is part of the vision for preserving and promoting heritage: “We are committed to making our historical and cultural values part of our citizens’ daily life. This special symbol, dating back to the early 5th century BC, is a gift returned to Prizren, making it even prouder and more beloved for all of us.”
The monument “The Runner of Prizren” will stand at one of the most frequented points of the city, serving as a cultural and tourist attraction for visitors from Kosovo and abroad.
“Let us enjoy Prizren and our precious heritage,” said Mayor Totaj.
