Russia attacked the infrastructure of Odesa port in Ukraine on Wednesday, the Ukrainian Air Force announced.

Commander Mykola Oleschuk said Ukrainian air defense systems shot down three of five missiles launched by Russia, as well as 14 of 20 drones launched by it.

According to him, their targets were several regions: Odesa, Mikollajivi, Kherson, Vinicja and others.

“The infrastructure of the Odesa port has been attacked with missiles. As a result of active countermeasures, three enemy Kh-59/Kh-69 missiles and three UAV drones did not reach their targets,” Oleschuk said in a Telegram message.

He did not give more details about the consequences.

Odesa, an important port for Ukraine’s grain exports, has been repeatedly targeted by Russian military attacks.

Despite the evidence, Moscow denies hitting Ukraine’s civilian infrastructure.

Earlier this week, authorities in Ukraine reported at least 37 people killed by Russian attacks in several regions of the country.

A children’s hospital in Kiev was also the target of the attacks, where two employees were killed. /REL/
