The 11th attempt to constitute the Assembly of Kosovo has resumed and failed, but was marked by a moment of solemnity and political discord.

At the beginning of the session, MPs held one minute of silence in honor of May 5 – Martyrs’ Day, paying tribute to those who gave their lives for the nation.

Session chair Avni Dehari once again insisted that the Speaker of Parliament be elected through a secret ballot, urging political parties to propose names for the verification commission.

However, PDK, LDK, the Serbian List, AAK, and Nisma opposed the proposal, refusing to support changes to the voting process.

As 111 deputies were present in the plenary hall, but the political deadlock over procedure continues to stall progress, because only 56 MP voted pro the verification commission and hence the session was once again interrupted and will continue on Wednesday May 7th at 10:00.
