The Speaker of the Serbian Parliament in Montenegro, Milan Knezhević, said that the introduction of Serbs into the government of Milojko Spajić is important “in many aspects” because of “future processes that should bring internal stability to Montenegro”.
He boasted that “it has collapsed” the narrative that Serbs who do not know Kosovo cannot become part of the executive in Podgorica.
“For a long time in institutional and non-institutional circles, the narrative has spread that the Serbs who voted for a common state in the 2006 referendum, who do not recognize the so-called Kosovo, who advocate for better relations with fraternal Serbia, for a balanced foreign policy, they cannot be part of the executive authorities, no matter how many votes they have won in the elections. This concept has collapsed and I am convinced that it will no longer be dominant in Montenegro”, Knezhević told Večernje Novosti.
Speaking about the fact that Croatia has declared him undesirable, Knezhević said that Zagreb did this because the Serbs entered the government.
“They eliminated any possibility for political representatives of Serbs from Croatia to be in the government,” said Knezhević.
