In a significant step toward equality and inclusion in education, the Ministry of Education, led by Arbërie Nagavci, has finalized the project “Supply of Equipment for Creating Albanian-Language Speech Synthesis for Blind and Visually Impaired Persons.”
This initiative will enable individuals with visual impairments to use digital devices in the Albanian language, greatly facilitating their access to education and information, reports IndeksOnline.
According to data published through E-Procurement, the initially projected contract value was €1,000,000.00, but it was successfully finalized for €237,550.00.
The winning consortium includes “Virtual Assistants SH.A.,” “EDUSOFT,” and “NTP Online,” who will be responsible for supplying the equipment and developing the technology that enables Albanian-language voice synthesis.
With this initiative, the Ministry of Education reaffirms its commitment to bringing innovation and equal opportunities to all students, making education more accessible, inclusive, and responsive to the needs of every citizen.
