The spokesperson for the Central Election Commission (CEC), Valmir Elezi, announced that today the vote counting for parliamentary candidates has started in the municipal counting centers in Prishtina, Lipjan, Obiliq, and Partesh.

In other municipalities, Elezi stated that preparations are being made, and counting is expected to start tomorrow.

For the first time, the vote counting for parliamentary candidates is taking place in municipal counting centers. Each municipality has one such center.

“We are starting the process of counting votes for parliamentary candidates, which come from regular voting stations in 2,533 polling stations across Kosovo. Initially, the counting process in municipal counting centers will begin in Prishtina, Obiliq, Lipjan, and Partesh. In other municipalities, it will start once all necessary technical and administrative preparations are completed. It is expected to start tomorrow,” Elezi said at a press conference.

Additionally, for the first time, in addition to counting votes for parliamentary candidates, the verification of votes for political entities will also be conducted at the municipal counting centers.

“This will eliminate any doubts that have arisen during issues with the publication of preliminary results,” Elezi added.

Regarding the counting of conditional votes, votes for people with special needs, and the diaspora, the CEC spokesperson mentioned that it will take place at a later stage in the Counting and Results Center once the counting in the municipal counting centers is completed.

“We will soon have data for each municipality regarding how many there are.”
