A serious theft has been reported in North Mitrovica, where the target was the Orthodox Church located on Qeta e Minatorëve Street. Following intensive investigative work, police have managed to arrest the suspects.
According to informations, on January 10, 2026, at around 15:30, it was reported that suspicious individuals had entered the religious facility, taking advantage of the fact that the church door was not locked.
The suspects allegedly managed to steal 15,000 Serbian dinars and 10 euros, an amount valued at approximately 127 euros, before fleeing in an unknown direction.
Police units immediately responded to the scene and launched a search operation. In consultation with the on-duty State Prosecutor, the case was initiated as “Aggravated Theft.”
On January 11, 2026, after operational and investigative actions, at around 18:30, police located and arrested two suspects on Zoran Đinđić Street.
Sources from Sinjali report that the arrested individuals are Milan Stolić, approximately 19 years old, and D.R., approximately 18 years old, who are suspected of being directly involved in the theft at the religious site.
After being interviewed in the presence of their defense attorneys, and by decision of the prosecutor, the suspects were placed in detention, while investigations continue to fully clarify the case.
