After 26 springs of waiting and anxiety for their families, 11 individuals who went missing during the war have been found and identified in the mass grave in Bishtazh.
After the massacre in Kralan, Serbian state forces had abducted and buried the victims in mass graves in an attempt to erase them, along with the evidence of their crimes.
The victims were held under constant torture, without water or food for two days. On April 4, 86 men and boys were detained, 11 of whom were minors. Since then, no one had seen them alive. Some of them were found near the Peručac Lake in Bajina Bašta, Serbia.
After the exhumation from Bishtazh, Serbia had seized the bodies.
After 26 years, in the mass grave in Bishtazh, the following individuals have been found and identified:
- Adem Gashi
- Sahit Gashi
- Bekim Hasani
- Sheremet Ismajli
- Mentor Myrtaj
- Osman Fejza

Prime Minister Albin Kurti has also commented on this matter, stating that the open wounds of forced disappearances are the truth of the inhumane crimes and genocide committed by Serbia during the war in Kosovo.
“In these difficult days, it is not easy to find words of comfort that can fill the emptiness left by their absence. It is hard to find words strong enough to describe the strength and unwavering patience of the families over these years.”
“In these days, and every other day, we share the pain and honor for the martyrs and heroes of the nation in Kosovo. We stand together to not allow the atrocities that occurred during the war to be forgotten,” said Kurti.
