Germany witnessed massive protests today, with around 200,000 people gathering in Munich to demonstrate against the Iranian authorities. The rally was held peacefully, as participants called for the fall of the Islamic Republic following the wave of violent protests that have been ongoing in Iran since late December.

According to human rights organizations in Iran, thousands of protesters have been killed there.

Last week, approximately 10,000 people gathered in Berlin, according to German police, responding to a call from the National Council of Resistance of Iran — the political wing of the exiled opposition group People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran, which Tehran considers a “terrorist” organization.

Meanwhile, today the exiled son of the deposed Shah, Reza Pahlavi, called on Donald Trump to “help” the Iranian people, declaring that “the time has come to end the Islamic Republic.”
