Kosovo’s President, Vjosa Osmani, has recently received a death threat via email sent to the official address of the Presidency. The anonymous message explicitly threatens to kill the head of state.

Following the incident, the First Gentleman, Prindon Sadriu, reacted forcefully in a Facebook post, stating that this is far from the first time President Osmani has been threatened—there have been dozens, he said.

Sadriu sharply criticized the lack of institutional response, claiming these threats are a direct result of ongoing inaction:

“When these threats repeat, they are no longer just words. They are a system. They are a strategy. And above all: they are a direct consequence of inaction. Because not one of the individuals making these threats has faced justice. No action. No accountability. And when relevant institutions stay silent, violence naturally speaks. When responsible institutions don’t protect, the threateners feel emboldened,” Sadriu wrote.

No official statement has yet been released by the Kosovo Police or the Prosecutor’s Office regarding any investigation or measures being taken in response.
