Three officials of the Prishtina Municipality have been detained by the police on suspicion of bribery and abuse of official position, confirmed Znjullah Gashi, Chief Prosecutor of the Prishtina Basic Prosecution.
According to the prosecution, one of the officials, A.G., was caught in the act while performing official duties, assisting a victim in making a payment for work carried out under a municipal contract. Gashi emphasized that the arrests are the result of special investigative measures.
In a public statement, Mayor Përparim Rama said the municipality will provide full cooperation with the competent authorities and that the capital remains open to any verification process and procedural action, adding: “No one is above the law!”
