Protests in Albania escalated on the seventh consecutive day, with demonstrators throwing Molotov cocktails, stones and pyrotechnics at police and government buildings. Police responded with tear gas, water cannons and rubber bullets, according to local media reports.
Masked protesters attacked the Tirana Court of Appeal, smashing doors and windows, with some entering the building while employees were still inside. Police identified 20 people in connection with the damage, arrested five and declared 15 wanted.
Later, protesters attacked the Ministry of Interior, triggering further clashes with security forces. Violence was also reported in Kurbin, where Molotov cocktails were thrown toward the municipal building.
Prime Minister Edi Rama called for unconditional dialogue and urged demonstrators to reject violence, while opposition leader Sali Berisha backed the protests and reiterated calls for the government to resign.
The demonstrations, which began with student unrest on October 13, have since drawn broader public participation, spreading beyond Tirana to other Albanian cities.
