The Chairman of the PDK, Memli Krasniqi, has recalled the heroic deeds of Bekim Berisha, known as Abeja.

He stated that Abeja was one of the few Albanians who fought against the genocidal Serbian regime in Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo.

“Those who knew him and fought alongside him said he was worth a thousand soldiers. Meanwhile, to the enemy, he was a nightmare. Bekim Berisha – Abeja, is one of the rare Albanians who never missed an opportunity to fight against the genocidal Serbian regime. In Croatia, Bosnia, and Kosovo – he has only one name and one epithet: Hero! 25 years ago, in his final battle, that of Junik, Abeja gave his homeland the only thing left to give: His life!” Krasniqi wrote.

He added that Berisha, along with his comrades Bedri Shala, Elton Zherka, and Përmet Vula, were immortalized at the sacred altar of freedom.
