Prime Minister Albin Kurti announced today at a government meeting that his office has recently hosted several high-level officials and that more guests are expected.
“Tomorrow, Thomas Goffus, NATO’s Assistant Secretary General for Operations, will visit Kosovo, and today a Danish delegation from the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe will arrive,” said Kurti.
He also mentioned that next week, Kosovo will host two Foreign Ministers from NATO member countries, though he did not disclose their origins.
Kurti noted that his office recently hosted CIA Director William Burns and Admiral Stuart Munsch, Commander of NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command Naples. He said that discussions included the issue of opening the Ibar Bridge for vehicle traffic.
“Following my visit to the US, we had visits from CIA Director William Burns and Admiral Stuart Munsch, who commands NATO’s Allied Joint Force Command in Naples. Their support is unwavering, and our cooperation is extensive and robust, with a shared commitment that is serious and productive in the service of peace and security, alongside the rule of law and democratic and economic progress.”
“In all these meetings, the issue of opening the central bridge over the Ibar River is naturally discussed. We are conducting all necessary consultations and addressing our internal tasks, such as reviewing the preliminary draft on the physical stability of the bridge while awaiting the final report and preparing for the environmental cleanup around it. The opening of the bridge is about freedom of movement, and freedom of movement is a fundamental right both in Kosovo and in the EU.”
