The government has ordered state institutions to close and has recommended that local authorities and private companies in Kocan release their workers from work obligations tomorrow.

This was one of the conclusions reached in the government session, as announced tonight by government spokesperson Marija Miteva, reports Klan Macedonia.

Government spokesperson Marija Miteva informed the public about the conclusions from the extraordinary government session held this afternoon.

She said that four conclusions were reached regarding the decision to designate days of mourning and the funeral of the victims of the fire at the “Pulse” nightclub in Kočani, which will be held tomorrow.

State institutions are obligated, and it is recommended that local authorities and employers in the private sector release all employees in the Kočani area from their work duties. Health, education, and childcare institutions, including kindergartens, are to provide services based on needs. The fire department is required to take actions and activities according to its competencies, Miteva said.

She also informed about the security protocol and the guidelines for ethical reporting regarding the funeral of the victims from Kočani, which were approved by the government.

“For media representatives reporting on the event, police officers will secure a special area from the procession route, 300 meters from the entrance to the city cemetery in Kocan. This area will be secured by members of the Ministry of Interior to ensure order and safety in the designated zone. A ban on the operation of unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) will also apply in this area,” Miteva said.

She emphasized that this media protocol aims to protect the privacy of the victims’ families and allow journalists and cameramen to safely cover the event from the appropriate distance. She called for adherence to universal ethical standards for professional reporting.
