The Central Trade Inspectorate, operating under the Ministry of Industry, Entrepreneurship and Trade, conducted a large-scale inspection campaign in cooperation with the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Tax Administration, and the Central Labor Inspectorate.

According to an official statement, the operation aimed to ensure compliance with legal standards, protect consumers, maintain fair market competition, and verify the fulfillment of legal obligations by economic operators.

During the inspections, a total of 69 businesses were examined, with a focus on the hospitality and tourism sector, including motels and private villas.

As a result of the inspections, 26 businesses were temporarily closed due to unregistered operations or lack of permits/authorizations required to meet minimum technical standards.

Additionally, inspectors issued 27 sanctions against operators found in violation of applicable legislation.

Authorities emphasized that similar operations will continue in the future to strengthen the rule of law and create a safe, regulated environment for economic activities throughout Kosovo.
