A tragic incident occurred yesterday afternoon in Italy, claiming the life of a 59-year-old Albanian man.
Gëzim Iljazi, originally from Albania but a longtime resident of the Rovigo province, died after falling from a height of around 100 meters while hiking alone near the Stulles waterfalls in the Bolzano province, according to Italian media reports.
Eyewitnesses said they first saw his backpack fall, followed shortly by the man himself.
Police, carabinieri, a rescue helicopter, and emergency crews rushed to the scene. Unfortunately, there was nothing they could do to save Iljazi’s life.
