Four people were killed and 14 others injured in a shooting during a birthday party in Stockton, California, on Saturday evening, local police announced.
The shooting occurred during a family gathering in a residential neighborhood of Stockton in Northern California. The city’s Vice Mayor, Jason Lee, confirmed the incident in a Facebook post, stating that he is in close contact with staff and security officials to determine the circumstances of the attack.
“I am in contact with staff and authorities to understand exactly what happened, and I will be demanding answers,” Lee wrote in his statement.
Stockton police reported receiving the call about the shooting shortly before 6:00 p.m. local time (02:00 GMT). The incident took place near the 1900 block of Lucile Avenue, an area frequently visited by families and residents.
A full investigation is underway, and authorities are seeking information to identify those responsible for the crime. Meanwhile, citizens have been urged to cooperate with the police to help clarify the events.
