Lord David Lipsey, a Labour peer in the UK House of Lords, has tragically died while swimming in the River Wye near Glasbury, Powys. British police confirmed that the 77-year-old’s body was found in the water after he was last seen swimming, according to RKS News.
During the 1970s, under Prime Minister Jim Callaghan, Lipsey served as a journalist and adviser at 10 Downing Street. He was appointed to the House of Lords in 1999, receiving the title Baron Lipsey of Tooting Bec, and remained a prominent voice within the Labour Party.
