At least three people have been killed and twelve others injured following an explosive attack at a railway station in Ovruch, northern Ukraine, according to the State Border Guard Service.
Authorities reported that a man detonated an explosive device during a document inspection, killing one border guard and two civilians.
Local media, citing the National Police, said the device used was a hand grenade. The attacker later died in an ambulance from his injuries. Officials identified him as a 23-year-old resident of Kharkiv, located in northeastern Ukraine.
So far, investigators have not established any connection between the explosion and Russia’s ongoing war in Ukraine.
Law enforcement agencies, including the National Police Headquarters, remain on the scene, with investigations underway to determine the full circumstances of the incident.
