The President of the European Movement of Serbs from Kosovo, Rada Trajkovic, has stated today that the arrest of Milan Radoicic is one of the conditions for the visit of French President Emmanuel Macron to Belgrade.

Trajković said in an interview for the Serbian news agency, Beta, that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will have to arrest Radoić for next month, when, as has been announced, the arrival of the French president is expected.

She recalled that in April, during Vučić’s visit to France, Macron had said that it is important that the participants of the attack in Banjska be arrested.

“Vucic is under great pressure from the international community because of his close associate Milan Radoicic. The United States of America has accepted that the trial will take place in Belgrade, which means that there is no pressure to extradite Radoicic and members of his group to Pristina. “Vucic has promised to try Radocic and it is expected that he will be arrested before the arrival of French President Emmanuel Macron,” said Trajkovic.

She added that the arrest is one of the conditions for Macron’s visit, “which is not discussed publicly”.

According to her, the arrest of the former vice-president of the Serbian List will be the “hardest test” that Vučić must pass.

“It was much easier for Vucic to give up a part of Serbia’s territory, or now to accept the exploitation of lithium, than to give up the people who followed his orders, and besides, they are from a criminal background . The arrest of Radoicic will be a great danger for Vucic,” she said.

Asked what he meant by “high risk”, Trajković said that Vučić was afraid of the information that foreigners would give to the Serbian judiciary.

“If the Serbian judiciary starts dealing with Banjska and Radoicic, it would open the possibility for different foreign services to send different intelligence data, as in some other processes of organized criminal groups. In that case, Vucic would not be able to save Radoicic from responsibility,” she said.

She believes that Vucic will have to make an “agreement” with Radoicic.

Asked if there is a possibility that the West will forgive Vucic “for the Banjska case”, Trajkovic said that Europe is guided by its priorities.

“It is possible that Vucic plans to protect the mining and the opening of lithium mines with Radoicic, Zvonko Veselinovic and their criminal group, but the new US representative for European affairs, Alexander Kasanoff, will surely insist on responsibility and criminal prosecution of the Banjska case”, she emphasized.

Trajkovic said that several thousand Serbian families have moved from Kosovo in the last ten months, after the attack in Banjska i Zvecani.
