he Specialist Chambers of Kosovo announced that General Giovanni Barbano, the head of EULEX, has reappointed Judge Ekaterina Trendafilova as the President of the Specialist Chambers of Kosovo (SCH) for a four-year term, beginning on December 16, 2024. This comes as the current mandate of President Trendafilova concludes on December 15, 2024.

Trëndafilova expressed her gratitude, stating, “I appreciate the trust that continues to be placed in me,” and emphasized her commitment to ensuring that the Kosovo Specialist Chambers (KSC) will continue to carry out its procedures swiftly, justly, and efficiently, in accordance with the court’s legal framework.

As the head of KSC, Trëndafilova will continue to play a crucial role in overseeing legal processes related to war crimes cases from the 1990s in Kosovo, further solidifying the judicial progress made in the region.
