A planned conference by Ekaterina Trendafilova, President of the Special Court in The Hague, has been canceled due to public safety concerns, according to a statement by Angela Griep, spokesperson for the Court.
“I can confirm that today’s event has been canceled for reasons of public safety and based on the advice of the Kosovo Police. That is all I can share at the moment. We will provide further information as it becomes available,” Griep stated.
The conference was scheduled to address security-related matters, but rising tensions and assessments by security agencies led to the decision to call it off.
This cancellation comes amid heightened political sensitivity and public scrutiny surrounding the role of the Special Court and its operations in Kosovo.
