The management of the “Trepça” mining complex on Friday called on miners to withdraw from enforcement proceedings regarding weekend overtime payments, warning that otherwise the April salaries for over 70 percent of employees and the May salaries for all miners are at risk.
In a Facebook post, the company requested the reaching of installment payment agreements to avoid additional expenses for bailiffs and lawyers, as well as to preserve the financial stability of the enterprise.
“Currently, it is impossible to ensure the payment of salaries for April 2025 for over 70% of employees. There is a risk that even the payment of salaries for May will not be realized on time,” the statement said, adding that today alone there is an enforcement order for the amount of €200,000.
According to the management, there have been attempts to persuade miners’ representatives to suspend the enforcements for two days in order to make salary payments, but such an agreement has not been reached.
The company calls for understanding and cooperation, emphasizing that an agreement is the only way to avoid severe financial consequences for all employees.
