The fourth final of the Kosovo Basketball Play-off brought great emotions, with Trepça defeating Bashkimi 80-74 on Wednesday evening at the “Minatori” gym in Mitrovica, taking the series to 3-1 and getting just one win away from the championship title.
The match was another spectacle between the two great teams of the Superliga, battling for the crown.
Trepça started with high intensity, dominating the first period, which they finished with a 33-26 lead. However, the rhythm shifted in the second quarter, where Bashkimi from Prizren responded strongly. With excellent defense and efficiency in attack, they reversed the game, winning the quarter by nine points (35-44). During this period, Trepça managed to score only two points.
Just when it seemed the guests were controlling the game, the “Miners” made a strong comeback in the second half. With a 19-0 run at the start of the third quarter, Trepça overturned the score and ended the period with a three-point lead (63-60).
The match reached dramatic proportions in the final quarter, with both teams fighting hard for every point. In the decisive moments, experience and composure from the Mitrovica team made the difference, securing their third win in the series with a final score of 80-74.
With this triumph, Trepça is now just one win away from claiming the Kosovo Basketball Championship. The series is played in a best-of-seven format, so the next match could either crown the new champion or extend the series.
