The judicial proceedings against Bedri Shabani and Muharrem Qerimi, who stand accused of espionage, will continue today (Thursday) at the Basic Court in Pristina.

Qerimi also faces an additional charge for unauthorized possession of weapons.

The previous hearing, held on 13 November, was interrupted after the public was temporarily removed from the courtroom due to the health condition of the defendant Shabani.

The Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo (SPRK) filed the indictment on 19 February 2025, accusing Shabani and Qerimi of collecting and transmitting sensitive information and documents to Serbia’s intelligence agency (BIA).

According to the SPRK, the information allegedly supplied to BIA included details about the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA/UÇK), the Kosovo Police, the Kosovo Intelligence Agency, the Police Inspectorate, and various events and specific locations — including the Reçak massacre.

Prosecutors argue that the intention behind these actions was to:

  • Provoke wider interethnic conflict in Kosovo,
  • Promote false narratives linking the KLA Medical Hospital to the so-called “Yellow House” organ-trafficking allegations, and
  • Undermine the truth about the Reçak massacre.

The trial resumes today, with the court expected to review further evidence and testimonies regarding the alleged espionage activities.
