Trial of Lazović Begins – Suspect Accused of War Crimes in the Gjakova Region

The trial of Srdjan Lazović, accused of committing war crimes against the civilian population, began today at the Basic Court in Pristina, within the Department for Serious Crimes.

During today’s session, witnesses Ramadan Bacaj and Zaim Gashi testified, recounting in detail the physical and psychological torture they claim to have suffered at the hands of the accused during the Kosovo War.

Lazović was arrested in June of last year in Leposaviq.

He stands accused of war crimes committed in 1999 in the Gjakova region, one of the areas that experienced some of the most brutal atrocities during the conflict in Kosovo.
