The court session in the case against three Serbian defendants accused in connection with the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal in Kosovo was postponed on Monday, October 19, according to Gazeta Sinjali.

Presiding Judge Vesel Ismajli announced that he would not participate in future hearings in the case because he is due to retire on November 10.

“Today’s session is postponed. I will not take part in the subsequent hearings because I am retiring on November 10,” Ismajli said.

His announcement raises questions about the next steps in the proceedings, including the arrangements for continuing the trial following his departure.

The case concerns the attack on the Ibër-Lepenc canal, a critical piece of infrastructure in Kosovo.
