Following the conclusion of the trilateral meeting between the U.S., Ukraine, and Turkey in Istanbul, U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio briefly stated that “the killings must stop.”
During the meeting, Rubio met with Ukraine’s Defense Minister Andrii Yermak, Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha, and his Turkish counterpart, Hakan Fidan.
Meanwhile, Rubio’s spokesperson, Tammy Bruce, confirmed that the discussions between the three delegations focused on the importance of reaching a peaceful resolution to the war in Ukraine.
CNN also reported that a separate meeting took place between U.S. State Department official Michael Anton and Russian representative Vladimir Medinsky.
