Triple Murder in Gjilan – IPK Recommends Suspension of Four Police Officers

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate (IPK) has announced the launch of a preliminary investigation to determine whether there was any negligence or possible involvement of Kosovo Police officers in the criminal activities of the suspect wanted for the triple murder that occurred on August 10, 2025, in Gjilan.

“Based on legal authorizations and the importance of preserving the integrity of the investigation, as well as preventing any influence on witnesses or evidence, the IPK has recommended the suspension of four police officers from the Regional Directorate of Police in Gjilan,” the statement said.

Following this recommendation, the suspended officers include:

  • One police sergeant and one investigator from the Regional Directorate’s Investigations Unit in Gjilan,
  • One police sergeant – Head of Investigations at the Novobërdë Police Station,
  • One police officer from the Rapid Reaction Unit of the Gjilan Regional Police Directorate.

The IPK, in coordination with the Chief Prosecutor of the Gjilan Basic Prosecution Office, is conducting preliminary criminal investigations against the aforementioned officers over suspicions of involvement in unlawful activities with elements of criminal offenses.

The investigation is still in its initial phase and includes the collection of material evidence, taking statements, and other procedural actions.
