KFOR Commander, Major General Enrico Barduani, today received the Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, René Troccaz, together with the French Ambassador to Kosovo, Olivier Guérot.

The meeting was held at KFOR Headquarters in “Film City” camp, Pristina.

According to the statement, the meeting gave General Barduani an opportunity to highlight KFOR’s continued commitment to a safe environment for all communities in Kosovo and to exchange views on current developments in the region.

During the meeting, Barduani thanked Troccaz for France’s contribution to KFOR and to peace and stability in the region.

“KFOR continues to carry out its mandate – based on the UN Security Council Resolution 1244 of 1999 – to contribute to a safe environment for all people and communities living in Kosovo, and to freedom of movement, at all times and impartially.

KFOR works in close coordination with the Kosovo Police and the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX) in their respective roles as security responders,” the KFOR statement said.
