Tropical Storm Debby Hits Florida, Four Dead

At least four people have died after Tropical Storm Debby struck Florida on August 5, threatening to bring torrential rains and catastrophic flooding to southeastern states in the U.S.

A 13-year-old died in Levy County when a tree fell on his mobile home as Storm Debby hit Florida’s coast as a Category 1 hurricane.

Authorities also reported that a truck driver was killed after his truck crashed into a canal in Hillsborough County. Additionally, a 38-year-old woman and a 12-year-old boy died in a car collision in Dixie County.

Overnight, the storm moved toward Georgia, and the U.S. National Hurricane Center expects it to continue moving towards South Carolina.
