The Albanian Police announced that starting Tuesday, April 14, 2026, heavy goods vehicles will not be allowed to travel from Albania into Montenegro due to a 72-hour protest by the Montenegrin Truck Drivers’ Association.

According to the announcement, Montenegrin authorities informed Albania that the protest will begin at 09:30 on April 14 and will last for three days.

For safety reasons and to prevent road blockages or potential incidents, entry of heavy vehicles into Montenegro will be temporarily suspended until the protest ends.

Only passenger cars, emergency vehicles, buses, and passenger transport services will be allowed to pass through border checkpoints during this period.

Authorities also stated that traffic on roads leading to border crossings with Montenegro will be monitored, and restrictions will be enforced throughout the protest duration.
