According to an official statement from Damascus, both sides emphasized the need to guarantee the rights and protection of the Kurdish people within the Syrian state. They also agreed to continue cooperation in the fight against the terrorist organization Islamic State (ISIS).

During the call, Trump and al-Shara underlined the importance of preserving Syria’s unity and territorial independence, reaffirming their commitment to the country’s stability.
