The U.S. President, Donald Trump, expressed strong anger toward France for not assisting in the fight against Iran.
In a post on Truth Social on Tuesday, the President criticized France for not allowing planes loaded with military supplies headed to Israel to fly over French territory.
Trump wrote that the U.S. will remember this clearly.
“The state of France will not allow planes loaded with military supplies going to Israel to fly over French territory. France has been very unhelpful regarding the ‘Butcher of Iran,’ who has been successfully eliminated. The U.S. will remember this,” Trump posted.
France has reportedly not allowed Israel to use its airspace to transport U.S. weapons that would be used in the fight against Iran, Western diplomats and two sources familiar with the matter told Reuters on Tuesday.
The sources added that this refusal, which occurred over the weekend, marked the first time France had done this since the start of the conflict with Iran.
Meanwhile, on Monday, Spain announced that it had closed its airspace to U.S. military planes headed to Iran for combat purposes.
