U.S. President Donald Trump announced tonight that US-China trade negotiations will be held in London on Monday, in an effort to reach an agreement between the two powers amidst their ongoing customs dispute.
Trump stated on his social media platform “Truth Social” that the American delegation will consist of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick, and White House Trade Representative Jamieson Greer.
“The meeting should go very well,” the American president added, according to Beta.
In April, Trump raised tariffs on Chinese goods to 145 percent, to which China responded by increasing tariffs on imported American goods to 125 percent.
