U.S. President Donald Trump has arrived in Switzerland to attend the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, according to local media reports.
President Trump is accompanied by U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio. Upon arrival, Trump declined to answer questions from journalists, offering no public comment.
During his stay in Davos, Trump is expected to meet with several European leaders, at a time of heightened transatlantic tensions. The meetings come after recent threats by Trump to impose tariffs on European countries that oppose the United States’ proposed move regarding Greenland.
The World Economic Forum in Davos brings together global political and economic leaders to discuss major international challenges, including geopolitical tensions, global trade, and security issues.
Trump’s presence at the forum is closely watched, as his recent statements and policies have raised concerns among European allies over the future direction of U.S.–Europe relations.
