U.S. President Donald Trump stated today that the United States is “getting along very well with China,” describing the relationship between the two nations as “very good.” Trump also revealed that he has received an invitation to China from Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Remarks During Meeting with Philippine President
Trump shared the news of the invitation during an Oval Office meeting with Philippine President Bongbong Marcos. He encouraged President Marcos to do what is necessary for the benefit of the Philippines, including establishing an economic relationship with China.
“It wouldn’t bother me at all,” Trump said regarding the Philippines engaging economically with China.
President Marcos responded by saying, “It’s something we have to do anyway.”
