President Donald Trump has extended his congratulations to Albanian President Bajram Begaj on the occasion of Albania’s Independence Day — a gesture that Begaj made public through a message on X, where he once again emphasized Albania’s lasting commitment to its strategic alliance with the United States.
In his post, Begaj highlighted that the partnership between Albania and the U.S. is not temporary nor symbolic, but a constant pillar of Albania’s foreign policy. He stressed that Tirana remains fully dedicated to working with Washington on shared priorities, from security cooperation to democratic strengthening.
Begaj also reaffirmed what Albania has demonstrated for decades:
that Albania has stood — and will always stand — firmly beside the United States.
