U.S. President Donald Trump has set a “final deadline” for reaching a peace agreement between Russia and Ukraine, emphasizing that both Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky will listen to his efforts for peace.

Speaking before his meeting with Norwegian Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Støre, Trump was asked whether he believed that Putin would heed his call for peace. His response was succinct: “Yes, yes.”

Trump reiterated his intention to bring Putin and Zelensky together for direct negotiations, stating that both leaders “want peace.”

The comments follow Trump’s recent criticism of Zelensky’s stance on Crimea, accusing him of hindering negotiations by refusing to acknowledge Russian control over the peninsula. Trump described the current situation as “tense” and filled with “hatred, bad blood, and disgust” between Russia and Ukraine.
