U.S. President Donald Trump has called for the immediate dismissal of Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) Director Erika McEntarfer, accusing the agency of publishing manipulated employment data for political purposes.

The latest report, released Friday, showed that the U.S. added only 73,000 jobs in July, while revised figures for May and June revealed 258,000 fewer jobs than initially reported.

Posting on his Truth Social platform, Trump said the numbers were “politically rigged” and blamed McEntarfer, appointed under President Joe Biden.

“I have instructed my team to fire this Biden political appointee immediately. She will be replaced with someone much more competent and qualified,” Trump wrote.

The decision comes at a critical moment for the U.S. economy and ahead of the upcoming presidential elections.
