Former U.S. President Donald Trump has harshly criticized the legal proceedings against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, calling them politically motivated and “a ridiculous witch hunt.”
In a strongly worded post on social media, Trump said Netanyahu doesn’t deserve to be prosecuted but honored for his leadership during recent conflicts, especially in the face of threats from Iran.
“Israel is currently experiencing one of its greatest moments in history, and that is entirely thanks to Netanyahu,” Trump wrote, emphasizing that Netanyahu remained steadfast “like a warrior.”
He added:
“Facing a major war (including Iran), Netanyahu never wavered and stood strong like a warrior. For this, perhaps, he deserves to be called the greatest warrior in Israel’s history,” referring to him by his well-known nickname “Bibi.”
