U.S. President Donald Trump and First Lady Melania Trump have departed Rome aboard Air Force One.
The couple left shortly after the funeral Mass at the Vatican concluded.
Before departing for Rome on Friday, Trump told reporters at the White House that the funeral “would be very interesting.”
“We’ll be meeting with many foreign leaders — they want to meet,” Trump said.
Today, it was reported that Trump briefly met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky inside St. Peter’s Basilica. The Trump couple was also photographed with French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer.
Additionally, footage captured a handshake between Kosovo’s President Vjosa Osmani and Donald Trump.
