President-elect Donald Trump has chosen Elise Stefanik to serve as the U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, reinforcing his “America First” agenda with a trusted ally.
“Elise is a strong and smart America First fighter,” Trump announced on November 11. At 40 years old, Stefanik is one of Trump’s most loyal supporters in the House of Representatives and was even considered for the role of Vice President.
A native of New York, Stefanik graduated from Harvard University and previously worked in the George W. Bush administration. During that time, she served on the Domestic Policy Council and was a Chief of Staff.
In 2014, at the age of 30, Stefanik made history as the youngest woman ever elected to Congress, representing New York. She later became the youngest woman to hold a leadership role in the House of Representatives.
Although initially known as a moderate conservative, Stefanik’s alignment shifted to become a staunch Trump supporter. She has consistently positioned herself as one of Trump’s most dependable allies, endorsing his 2024 presidential campaign even before its official launch. Additionally, she has defended him vigorously during impeachment trials and opposed the criminal indictments filed against him.
