U.S. President Donald Trump stated on Wednesday that he has encouraged Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to continue Israel’s military campaign against the Islamic Republic of Iran, CNN reports.

“I told him, go ahead,” Trump said when asked about his message to Netanyahu amid rising tensions in the Middle East.

“I talk to him every day. He’s a good man, doing a great job,” Trump added.

The latest known conversation between Trump and Netanyahu took place on Tuesday, during which the American president is said to be considering joining Israel’s efforts against Iran.

Asked whether he had signaled to Netanyahu that the U.S. might offer support beyond what has already been provided, Trump responded:

“No. So far, he’s done a good job. He’s been treated very unfairly,” Trump said. “He’s a wartime president going through all this nonsense—it’s ridiculous.”
